Inevitable: Mass Customized Learning 04/02/2012
I started reading this book while flying home from Florida on Sunday. I was saddened when they made me turn off my electronic devices and put my IPad away - I knew it meant I may not get back to the book anytime soon. There is so much in the first few chapters that have me intrigued and wondering if any schools are actually able to pull this off. It makes sense if Amazon can tell me what books to read, and I-Tunes can pick my new music and even tell what songs go well together with a genius playlist, why can't we customize our schools more. We have enough testing and data on our students - why don't we have an algorithm that tells us what math or social studies lessons our students need? How far off in the future is this really? Check out the links on Youtube and as soon as I can get back to the book, I am sure I'll have more to say. Add Comment Soon I shall get some of my random thoughts and musings underway. |
